Informal employment in Vietnam: reality and some policy orientation

Abstract

  The article reflects some general aspects of the current situation of informal employment in Viet Nam through data of a surveyconducted by the General Statistics Office (GSO) in collaboration with the International Labor Organization (ILO). Through the overall picture ofinformal labor in our country today, it can be seen that this is an economic sector that needs more attention of the Government at all levels in termsof policy orientation in order to create sustainable development for the informal economy as well as a steady social security for the informalworkforce.
