The design of workstation office following the ergonomics criteria

Abstract

    This paper presents the application of the ergonomics theories in designing the workstation office for an individuals group working in the administration field of a business which supplys the training and consultant services, where the layout design of individual workstations in a given space (1 floor). The design problem is decomposed to six stages, each stage considers the limited number of variables and requirements. Some design parameters must meet the ergonomics requirements such as the average area for each individual workstation, corridor, existing door, the thermal environment, the lighting, the noise and vibration, air vent, colour, green trees, fire-fighting equipments, relax space, etc.
