Abstract

     The aim of this study is to evaluate the influence of the application of reading strategies on the effectiveness of learning reading skill of students majoring in English at Trade Union University. Stemming from that purpose, a series of reading tasks and short tests were applied according to the study weeks of the 2nd semester, the school year 2022-2023 with the aim to find out the relationship between reading strategies and reading activities. In addition, 39 students participated in this study through a quantitative survey to gather their feedback on the tests and the role of strategies in the study of reading skill. The results of the present study show that reading strategies play an important role in enhancing the effectiveness of this skill among English Major students at Trade Union University.
