Abstract

Objectives: To assess the satisfaction, self-confidence, experience and to identify related factors in nursing students at Duy Tan University. Method: A cross-sectional study design was utilized among 162 nursing students at Duy Tan University in 2023. Results: The mean SCL score was high (4.15 ± 0.54), the simulation scenario designed appropriately with high mean SDS score (4.15 ± 0.54). The most important part of the simulation from view point of the students was fidelity (4.47 ± 0.67). There were statistically significant differences between academic year, GPA, feeling during debriefing session and nursing student’s satisfaction, self-confidence, and experience (p < 0.05). The regression model for SCL in nursing students revealed that SCL increased with increasing objectives and information, support, problem solving and they explained 61.7 % of the variance in SCL (R2 = 0.617; F = 84.947, p < 0.001). Conclusion: Simulation need to be widely applied to nursing education. To improve the satisfaction, self-confidence, experiencee with simulation, it is necessary to focus on simulation design, especially the fidelity, information of simulation scenario, debriefing session
