Assessment of inpatient satisfaction at Quan Son District General Hospital, Thanh Hoa Province

Abstract

Objective: To assess patient satisfaction among inpatients at Quan Son District General Hospital, Thanh Hoa Province, in 2022. Methods: A cross-sectional study was conducted on 300 inpatients at Quan Son District General Hospital from January 1, 2022, to September 30, 2022. Data were collected using a structured questionnaire evaluating various aspects, including hospital facilities, healthcare staff attitudes, accessibility of services, waiting time, information transparency, quality of medical care, and service costs. Results: The overall patient satisfaction rate was 89%. The most highly rated factors included the attitudes of doctors and nurses (96.0%), drug dispensing and usage instructions (95.3%), medical equipment (93.0%), trust in services (91.7%), and service costs (91.0%). Areas requiring improvement included the signage system (9% rated as average), the hospital admission process (6.7% rated as average), and transparency in treatment costs and medication usage (10.3% rated as average). Conclusion: The quality of services at Quan Son District General Hospital was rated as relatively good. However, the hospital should improve its signage system, enhance information transparency, and optimize the admission process to further increase patient satisfaction
