Abstract

Objectives: Assessing the change in knowledge about nutrition care for children under 24 months of age at Saint Paul’s General Hospital Pediatrics Department after health education. Methods: The before-after comparative health education intervention study was conducted on 65 mothers with children under 24 months of age at the Pediatrics Department of Saint Paul General Hospital from March to May 2022. Each study subject was interviewed. question 2 times. 1st time: Face-to-face interview of mothers when their children were admitted to the hospital within a 24-hour period using a pre-prepared toolkit. 2nd time: Telephone interview with mothers after 1 month of health education intervention using the same toolkit as the 1st time. Results: After the health education intervention, the nutritional care knowledge of mothers with children under 24 months old at the Pediatrics Department of Saint Paul General Hospital improved significantly. After 1 month of intervention: Mothers have correct knowledge is 80%. Conclusion: The knowledge of mothers at the Pediatrics Department of Saint Paul General Hospital about nutritional care for children under 24 months of age was significantly improved after 1 month of intervention. Nurses need to continue to strengthen health education and support mothers’ knowledge about nutrition for children under 24 months of age at Saint Paul General Hospital.
