A survey on the patient waiting time at The Deparment of general examination at 108 Military central hospital in 2022

Abstract

Objective: Describe the current status of waiting time for examination at the general medical examination department - Central Military Hospital 108. Subjects and Research methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study on 800 patients seeking medical examination from April /2022 to December 2022, data was collected from medical examination management software, and waiting time for examination is calculated from when the patient was registered until the medication was completed. Research results: The average time to perform the entire medical examination process is 215,6 ± 130,9 minutes (equivalent to 3 hours 36 minutes), of which the waiting time for laboratory results is the longest (131,8 minutes ± 100,8 minutes) and the shortest waiting time is in the step of waiting for payment of medical examination fees and medicine payment (8,9 ± 20,2 minutes). Conclusion: Waiting time for patients to be examined at the Department of Medical Examination at 108 Military Central Hospital was guaranteed according to the regulations of the Ministry of Health. To improve service quality, it is necessary to have innovative measures to shorten waiting times for examinations and bring satisfaction to patients
