Abstract

Objective: To describe the current status of quality of life and to identify the related factors among breast cancer patients at Tan Trieu K Hospital and analyze some related factors. Methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study on 373 breast cancer patients being treated at Department of Internal Medicine 5, Tan Trieu K Hospital, using the EQ-5D-5L toolkit to assess quality of life, using logistic regression to measure the association between some characteristics and quality of life of breast cancer patients. Results: The average quality of life of patients was 0,55 (SD = 0,33) and 50,4% of patients had good quality of life. Of the five aspects of quality of life, patients reported the most problems with mobility at 74,3% and anxiety/depression at 72,6%. Factors related to the patient’s quality of life were: age group, marital status, use of health insurance for cancer treatment, time of diagnosis, number of treatments being received, depression, anxiety. Conclusion: Quality of life of breast cancer patients was still low, a number of related factors have been found that should be further evaluated and intervened to improve the quality of life for breast cancer patients
