Abstract

Objective: The objective of the study is to describe the current status of elderly disease patterns in Ba Dinh District, Hanoi in 2023. Research method: A cross-sectional descriptive study on 438 elderly people from 3 wards of the District. Ba Dinh, Hanoi, visited Doctor4U Family Doctor clinic from July 2023 to December 2023. Results: The study show that the female population accounts for the majority at 87.0%, and the average age of the elderly is 65 (± 9.3). The most popular age group is 60-69 years old, accounting for 63%. The top four disease chapters according to ICD-10 are the endocrine system, nutrition and metabolism (65.3%), the musculoskeletal system (63.5%), the circulatory system (50.5%), and the digestion (50.0%). Among the top 10 diseases, osteoarthritis accounts for the highest rate at 49.1%. Conclusion: Shows that the disease pattern of the elderly in Ba Dinh District, Hanoi has a preponderance of diseases related to the endocrine system, nutrition and metabolism, musculoskeletal system, circulatory system and digestive system. This result provides a basis for continuing research with larger samples, supporting policy adjustments and developing appropriate intervention programs to improve the quality of life for the elderly in the future. community
