Abstract

Objective: Describe the working environment and some related factors of nurses directly caring for patients at some public hospitals in Hanoi, 2023. Method: Descriptive - correlational study conducted with 435 nurses from May to August 2023. Data collected using the Nurses’ Practice Environment scale (PESNWI), Social support at work scale (SSW). Results: Nurses’ ages ranged from 24 to 53, with 60% in the 30-39 age group. Women account for 81.7%. The average score of the working environment is 2.88 ± 0.35, showing an average level. The subsection “Manager’s ability to manage, lead and support” has the highest score (2.92 ± 0.43), and “Adequacy of human resources and equipment” has the lowest score (2.83 ± 0.49). The average Social Support score was 2.91 ± 0.45, with 59.9% at the average level, 37.4% at the high level, and 2.7% at the low level. Social support has the largest and positive correlation with Working Environment (r = 0.38, p < 0.01), while work experience, working hours per week, and number of patients cared for have a correlation. weakly related to the working environment.
