Abstract

Objective: Describe the palliative care needs among inpatients with stage IV lung cancer at the Palliative Care Department - Oncology Center - Thai Binh Provincial General Hospital in 2023. Methods: Cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted on 198 patients with stage IV lung cancer being treated at the Oncology Center of Thai Binh Provincial General Hospital from January to August,2023. Results: Patients in need of care for medical information accounted for the highest rate of 96%; communication care needs accounted for 72.8%, psychological care and support needs accounted for 55.6%; The need for financial support was 84.8%; The need for palliative care for syndromes and symptoms was 27.3%. Conclusion: The results of the study suggested that hospitals need to improve supportive care services to meet patient needs, thereby increasing patient satisfaction and improving their quality of life
