Survey of palliative care needs of cancer patients treated at the Oncology department – Ha Nam provincial general Hospital in 2024

Abstract

Objectives: To describe the current situation of palliative care needs of cancer patients receiving inpatient treatment at the Department of Oncology - Ha Nam Provincial General Hospital. Research subjects and methods: Descriptive study on 300 cancer patients treated as inpatients at Ha Nam Provincial General Hospital from March 2024 - October 2024. Results: The overall palliative care need of the study population was 84%; Of which the need for care support accounts for 82.0%; idol support needs are 79.0%; need for follow-up communication and support was 74.7%; information needs and material support needs 74%. Conclusion: The need for palliative care in cancer uses a high rate of 84%
