Abstract

Objective: To describe the knowledge of motor rehabilitation (MR) among post-stroke patients at Bac Giang Traditional Medicine Hospital in 2022. Methods: A descriptive cross-sectional study was conducted among 60 stroke patients receiving inpatient treatment at Bac Giang Traditional Medicine Hospital from July to December 2022. Data were collected through a 33-item survey assessing patients’ demographics, clinical characteristics, and knowledge of MR. Results: The findings revealed that 100% of patients were instructed on rehabilitation exercises and methods, with 70% of patients spent more than 1 hour per day on rehabilitation exercises. However, only 70% of patients understood the purpose of MR, while 86.7% understood the contents of MR and 76.7% were familiar with the principles. All patients reported noticeable improvements in their physical mobility after participating in the rehabilitation exercises. Conclusion: The study indicates that while knowledge of MR principles is relatively high, understanding of its purpose remains limited. This highlights the necessity for improved health education and counseling programs for patients during the post-stroke rehabilitation process. The active involvement of family members in the rehabilitation process also plays a crucial role
