ASSESSMENT OF THE AWARENESS AND PERFORMANCE OF PROFESSIONAL ETHICAL STANDARDS AMONG PART-TIME STUDENT NURSES IN NAM DINH UNIVERSITY OF NURSING

Abstract

Objectives of the study: To assess the awareness and level of performance of ethics code of part-time nursing students at the NamDinh University of Nursing. Methods: Crossectional descriptive study. Subjects are 233 part-time nursing students of nursing specialized course 10 and obstetricians specialized course 9. Results: Over 80% of subjects reported having awareness of 8 contents of the ethics code. All the subjects having pass level of performance of the ethics code. Especially, over 60% of participants having good and very good level of performance of the ethics code in each content; the highest of performance was friendly with patients content (69%). Conclusion: After studying medical psychology and ethics subject, students have a relatively high level of awareness about the 8 standards and 30 criteria of ethics code. Because of high level of awareness, level of performance of the ethics code is quite high.
