Abstract

This study was conducted with 51patientto assess reality about application of communicated process in patient with mechanical ventilation in ICU. Accounted for100% patients who is applied assessmentto find out funtions and skill to choose communicated form. All of skill, which is applied assessment, ranged from 94,12% to 100%. Skill of motion remained more than90%, funtions motion remained from 43,1 % to 90,2%. Each patient used at least 3 communicated forms. The most commonly communicated form is nod and shake their head, accounted for 90,2%; signal by hand is 70,6%, move their lips is 66,7%. The application of communicated process help collecting difficults and psychological status of patients with mechanical ventilation: 100% patients had pain and uncomfortable when suctioning of phlegm through endotracheal canula, more than 90% patients had useless feeling, thirsty, sleep disorder because of endotracheal canula. More than 60% patients had anxiety, angry, disappointment which occur 1 to 3 times perday. It is necessary to provide and training for nurse communicated skill, especially non-verbal communication.
