NURSING CARE ACTIVITIES AND RELATED FACTORS OF PATIENTS WITH THYROIDECTOMY AT THE NATIONAL HOSPITAL OF ENDOCRINOLOGY IN 2018

Objectives: To describe the nursing care activitiesand analyse some factors related to the nursing care activities for patients who undergo the thyroid surgery at the National Hospital of Endocrinology. Methods: The study uses cross-sectional descriptive method, with the combination between the qualitative and the quafitative conducted in 2018. The quafitative data was collected through 417survey forms from patients who were discharged from the hospital, the data was analysed by the Stata software. The qualitative data was collected through 6 interviews with the head of departments and nurse leaders of Surgery departments, 02 group discussions with all nurses working in the field care of thyroidectomy patients. Results: The nursing care monitoring and evaluation is evaluated at the highest - 96,4%.The patient’s hygiene care is evaluated at the lowest 87,3%. The lack of nurse manpower, the low rate of nurses who have over-5-year experience and postgraduate affected the nursing care. The care of hospital’s management, the working environment and good colleagues affect positively to the nursing care. Conclusion: The nursing care activities are evaluated well by the patients. The shortage of nurse manpower, work overload, the lack of clinical experiences of young nurses affects the nursing care activities for the thyroidectomy patients.Downloads
