STUDY ON AWARENESS OF RISK FACTORS AND WARNING SIGNS OF STROKE OF PEOPLE FROM TAY SON WARD, PLAYKU CITY, GIA LAI PROVINCE IN 2016

Objectives: (1) Describe the current status of people’s perceptions of risk factors and warning signs of cerebral stroke. (2) Identify a number of factors related to people’s perceptions about risk factors and the warning signs of cerebral stroke in Tay Son Ward, Pleiku City, Gia Lai province. Method: This is a cross-sectional descriptive study conducted on 396 people with aged 18 years and over in Tay Son Ward, Pleiku City, Gia Lai province, Collecting data by interviewing people through a set of questionnaires. Results: People’s perceptions of risk factors for stroke: the rate of the awareness were not good accounted for 51.3%, the good awareness was 48.9%. the rate of the awareness of people about the warning signs of strock not good was 58.8%, and good was 41.2%. Some factors such as profession, average income, education level has related to people’s perceptions of risk factors, warning signs of stroke. Conclusion: People’s perception of risk factors and stroke signal warning in Tay Son ward, Gia Lai province was limited. Occupation, average income, education level were related to the perception of people about risk factors, the warning expression of brain stroke.
