Abstract

Objective: To describe the actual quality of life and some factors related to the quality of life of patients with outpatient hypertension at the Nam Dinh General Hospital. Method: Using cross-sectional descriptive method, conducted on 125 patients diagnosed with outpatient hypertension at Nam Dinh General Hospital from 1 to month 4 in 2018. Results: Eight areas of quality of life mostly have low scores, 5/8 areas have average scores below 50 points, only 3 areas have average scores above 50 points including pain perception (57 ± 17,78 points), psychological state (51,49 ± 10,1 points) and social function (55,92 ± 14,65 points). Conclusion: The quality of life of patients with hypertension has a low average score of 47,65 ± 13,95 points. There is a correlation between age, education, occupation, duration of illness, living conditions and quality of life of people with hypertension. There is a relationship between depression and social support and the quality of life of people with hypertension: the lower the level of depression or the higher the social support, the higher the quality of life.
