Abstract

Objective: To describes the current knowledge of insulin self-injection in patients with type 2 diabetes managed by Nam Dinh General Hospital. Method: A cross - sectional study was conducted among 117 type 2 diabetes patients at Nam Dinh General Hospital. Results: The proportion of male / female ≈ 1.85. The majority of patients were farmers, accounting for 67.5%. Patients with correct answers of insulin self-injection accounted for 62.4% and the percentage of patients with poor level of knowledge regarding insulin self-injection was 37.6%. The mean score of self-insulin injection knowledge of study patients was 13.85 ± 3.8 out of total 21 points of the scale. Conclusion: Knowledge about self-injection of Insulin in type 2 diabetes patients within the study was limited.
