THE MANAGEMENT COMPETENCY AMONG HEADNURSES AT HOAN MY VINH INTERNATIONAL HOSPITAL IN 2022

Abstract

Objective: To describe the managenment competency (necessity and applicability) of the headnurses at Hoan My Vinh International Hospital in 2022. Subject and methods: Cross-sectional study was conducted on 139 participants including head doctors, head nurses, nurses at Hoan My Vinh International Hospital according to the modified Chase toolkit. Results: All three groups of participants indicated that knowledge and understanding of the health care environment is the most necessary for nursing management competency (mean: 3.36; 3.68; 3.63); and the lowest group is financial management competency (3.06; 3.32; 3.46); The current best competency is the human management (mean:3.38; 3.58; 3.63). Thethe competency of financial management is the weakest (mean: 3.06; 3.11; 3.48). Conclusion: The competency group on “Knowledge and understanding of the health care environment” is the most necessary for the management capacity of the head nurse, and the currently best evaluated competency group is the capacity on “Human management“.
