KNOWLEDGE ABOUT HEALTH EDUCATION SKILLS AMONG NURSES AT THE VIETNAM NATIONAL HOSPITAL OF ENDOCRINOLOGY IN 2022

Abstract

Objectives: To describe health education knowledge of nurses and related factors at the Vietnam National Hospital of Endocrinology in 2022. Subjects and methods: The cross-sectional descriptive study was conducted with the sample size of 170 nurses working in 11 clinical departments of the hospital from November to July 2022. The questionnaire wasdeveloped based on the contents of health education skills guided by the Cronbach’s alpha coefficient = of questionnaire was 0.816. Results: 64.1% of nurses had satisfactory knowledge in which the knowledge of familiarization, listening and observation skills accounted for a relatively high proportion. Factors related to health education knowledge included: age group, working seniority, and health education training. Conclusion: Health education knowledge of nurses was quite good, it is necessary to focus on training to improve health education knowledge for nurses, especially young nurses
