KNOWLEDGE, ATTITUDE AND PRACTICE ON PREVENTION OF SARS-COV-2 INFECTION AT HOC MON REGIONAL GENERAL HOSPITAL

Objectives: Determining the percentage of nurses with correct knowledge, attitude and practice on prevention of SARS-CoV-2 infection at Hoc Mon Regional General Hospital in 2021. Methods: Cross sectional study – analytical. Survey on 229 nurses at Hoc Mon Regional General Hospital for the term 2021-2022. Results:The rate of females is 4.87 times higher than that of males (82.97%). Nursing in the age group from 30-49 years old accounted for the majority (82.97%). The majority of nurses have university degrees (85.59%), trained in the prevention and control of SAR-CoV-2 infection (90.83%).The percentage of nurses with the correct knowledge, positive attitude, and correct practice on prevention of SARS-CoV-2 infection is 73.36%; 87.34% and 95.20%. No correlation was found between correct general knowledge and correct practice in preventing of SARS-CoV-2 infection (p > 0.05). A positive attitude leading to correct practice is 3,2 times higher than the group of nurses with a negative attitude (confidence interval 95%, 0,13 – 0.74). Conclusion:Nursing retraining and continuing education is required as they are a priority for protection to minimize the risk of occupational exposureDownloads
