Abstract

Objective: To evaluate the care of patients after colorectal surgery applying enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) at Nam Dinh Provincial General Hospital. Subjects and Methods: Prospective research on 30 patients at the general surgery department of Nam Dinh general hospital. Results: The average postoperative hospital stay was 11.4 ± 2.5 days. The time to return of bowel movements after surgery was 1.53 ± 0.5 days. The rate of vomiting and nausea after surgery was 33.3%. The rate of patients with complications after surgery 16.6%: 1 patient with pneumonia, 1 patient with urinary tract infection, 3 patients with wound infection. Conclusion: Research results show that enhanced recovery after surgery (ERAS) helps patients recover early, shorten hospital stay and reduce the rate of complications after surgery
