THE STRUCTURE IN THE SPIRIT COLLING CHANTS OF THE THAI PEOPLE IN QUAN SON DISTRICT, THANH HOA PROVINCE

Abstract

The structure of the Thai people’s calling spirit chants in Quan Son district show the arrangement of parts of the chants calling for spirits as well as the artistic intention of the folk author. It takes place in an orderly manner, full of rituals of the heavenly calling; while emphasizing rituals, essential elements as the basis for finding the spirit. Moreover, the structure also expresses the sorcerer's power connecting people with spirits, which is the role of mediator.
