APPLICATION OF TECHNOLOGY IN CULTIVATING MEDICINAL MUSHROOMS (CORDYCEPS MILITARIS) AT HONG DUC UNIVERSITY

Abstract

Medicinal mushrooms (Cordyceps militaris) were applied the studies technology for cultivation in the model at Hong Duc University. Ability to isolate and propagate this medicinal mushroom was great with fast-growing mycelia on both agar and liquid medium. The time periods of Cordyceps in incubation, fruiting body forming and harvesting were 9 days, 22 days and 56 days respectively. Harvested mushrooms gained the number of fruiting bodies of 42 bodies per box with the length and diameter of 32.5 mm and 2.8 mm respectively, the mass of fresh mushrooms was reached 23.6 g per box. Although the rate of mold infection was relatively high, about 32%, however the mushroom farming model initially brought economic efficiency with net interest of 8.968.000VND.
