Abstract

During the complicated progression of the Covid-19 pandemic worldwide, online learning serves as the most suitable solution, which ensures the continuity of learning activities for students. Therefore, online learning of students is a matter of concern in the world in general or in Vietnam in particular. This research aims to explore the factors affecting high school student’s interest in learning through online platforms. Data collection forms have been sent to 467 high school students who are participating in online learning at home in Ho Chi Minh city. The results from the Partial Least Squares Structural Equation Modeling (PLS-SEM) implied that the online learning space, the curriculum, and the technical competency of high school students have a certain influence on the student’s interest in learning, while factors such as teachers and the Covid-19 context are of little importance. From these results, specific measures can be taken to improve students’ interest in online learning in our country today.
