Building a supportive teaching culture to increase teaching effectiveness

Abstract

This paper investigates the existence of
a campus supportive teaching culture in a
Vietnamese public university that can facilitate good
teaching, basing on three research questions aiming
to find out: (1) the availability of supportive teaching
activities at campus and (2) the effectiveness of such
practices from lecturers’ perspectives and (3) the
demand for similar or more activities for teaching
excellence. The study was conducted in the form of a
survey, with data gathered via an online
questionnaire. From data analysis and findings, a
number of methods are suggested to enhance or
establish a supportive teaching culture in other
Vietnamese universities accordingly
