Solutions for patriotic education for students at the Center for Defense and Security Education of Quy Nhon University

Abstract

Patriotic education for students via defense and security education is the activity of relevant subjects to systematically affect students’ formation and development of patriotism according to the defined objectives. The effectiveness of patriotic education for students via defense and security education subject is the actual results achieved compared to the requirements set out through the implementation of specific educational activities at the units. Measuring the effectiveness of patriotic education for students at the Center for National Defense and Security Education of Quy Nhon University based on qualitative and quantitative criteria, on a survey of 605 students at the center and 19 officials and lecturers directly working in the management and teaching of national defense and security education subjects of the center and some other units, the article assesses the current state of students’ patriotic education at the National Defense and Security Education Center of Quy Nhon University. It then proposes three groups of solutions to contribute to improving the effectiveness of patriotic education for students at the National Defense Education Center of Quy Nhon University  in particular and for students of other units across the country in general.
