Applying internet-based listening materials in order to improve students’ listening skill

Abstract
The paper summarizes the theoretical basis on using Internet-based sources in improving listening skills for advanced-program students at a university in Vietnam. The author conducted action research with 90 students who are studying listening skill at a university on applying Internet-based sources in teaching and learning listening skill. The research results have confirmed the role of Internet-based sources in students’ listening improvement: promoting students' motivation; creating an environment to practice listening skill: improving students’ ability to listen to main ideas and details as well as helping enhance their pronunciation and vocabulary size for students.
