Abstract

Adhering to the development trend of education and training, high schools for the gifted including Gifted Nguyen Thien Thanh have gradually improved the quality of education, contributing to bringing the education quality of the Mekong Delta out of the “low-lying area” the education. Accordingly, the objectives of developing gifted high school students' competency are to support them so that they can continue their studies in advanced national and international university programs and be able to strengthen adaptation in the context of globalization and the new industrial revolution, which is one of the indispensable issues in the mission, vision, and core values of the gifted high school. Based on theory and practice surveyed at 5 gifted high schools in the Mekong Delta region, we analyze the principles and propose effective solutions to develop the school-based curriculum, responding to gifted high school students’ competency. Research results show that this is an issue of both topical and long-term significance
