Abstract
This study employs bibliometric analysis to explore research trends in early childhood mathematics education from 2003 to 2023. Analysis of 952 documents from the Scopus database reveals: (1) Journal articles are the predominant publication type, accounting for 80.4% of total publications; (2) The United States leads in research output, contributing 30% of total publications; (3) Five main research themes are identified, including professional development, technology application, mathematical skill development, early math readiness, and math anxiety/achievement. The findings provide an overview of the field, supporting future research directions.
