Abstract

Different contents of Fe loaded in Bi2WO6 nanopowders were synthesized using hydrothermal method. The physical properties of the products were characterized in detail using XRD, SEM, XPS, UV-VIS DRS and PL spectroscopy techniques. The successful incorporation of Fe3+ ions into Bi2WO6. was observed, producing a lattice distortion of Bi2WO6. The results showed that Fe doping had great influences on the photocatalytic efficiency of Bi2WO6 nanoparticles. The Bi2WO6:1.5% Fe sample exhibited the best photocatalytic activity in photodegradation of RhB under visible light irradiation. The enhanced photocatalytic activity of the Fe loaded in Bi2WO6 nanopowders was mainly caused by the efficient separation of electron and hole pairs
