EFFECT OF TEMPERATURE ON ELECTRICAL PROPERTIES OF YTTRIA-DOPED CERIA AND YTTRIA-STABILIZED ZIRCONIA

Abstract

Electrical properties of yttria-doped ceria and yttria-stabilized zirconia with fluorite structure have been investigated using statistical moment method.
Lattice constants, vacancy activation energies, diffusion coefficients, ionic
conductivities are calculated as a function of temperature. Numerical calculations
have been performed using the Buckingham potential and compared with those of the experimental and other theoretical results showing the reasonable agreements.
