The paper provides an overview of the manifestations and trends of climate change in the Long Xuyen Quadrangle area and the impacts of climate change which are taking place in this
region. Using quantitative methods to process temperature and precipitation data at the Chau Doc and Rach Gia meteorological stations, the study has shown that the average temperature in
the Long Xuyen Quadrangle area has increased by 0.56oC over the past 40 years (1979 - 2018), an increase that has occurred throughout the whole region. However, the changing trend of
rainfall varied between the locations: an increasing trend took place at the Rach Gia station, with an increase of 0.13mm/year and a decreasing trend took place at Chau Doc station, with a
decrease of 0.75mm/year. In addition, by inheriting previous studies, the paper also shows that climate change and sea level rise will increase the flooded area in the rainy season, and drought and saltwater intrusion in the dry season. This strongly affects production activities in the region.
