Feminine Symbols in some Vietnamese Prose Works in the early 21st Century

Abstract

Studying symbols is an interdisciplinary research field that is quite popular in the world with many different approaches. When studying symbols in Vietnamese literature, the writer realized that there are many feminine symbols (symbols of land, breast, night, or tears) appearing in some Vietnamese prose works in the early 21st century. These symbols are used with many deep meanings. They deeply reflect the characteristics of female divinity and the life of women. Therefore, those symbols have played an important role in pointing out the feminine characteristics as well as the feminist sound in literature.
