SOLUTIONS FOR RURAL TOURISM DEVELOPMENT TOWARD SUSTAINABILITY IN HANOI CITY

Abstract

Rural tourism is a significant driver forthe development of both urban and rural areas, yetoften faces numerous challenges related toeconomics, society, and the environment. Thepurpose of this study is to propose sustainable ruraltourism development solutions based on theanalysis of advantages and current situations inrural tourism development in Hanoi. The researchfindings indicate that Hanoi has considerablepotential for rural tourism development, and thissector has shown promising growth. However,rural tourism development still encounters variousconstraints, revealing unsustainable aspectsregarding tourism products, human resources,development linkages, promotional activities, andsupport policy mechanisms. Thus, effectivedevelopment measures are necessary for the future.The research results serve as a valuable referencefor tourism management authorities seeking newsolutions to enhance sustainable rural tourismdevelopment in Hanoi.
