THEORY OF LITERARY COMPOSITION IN THE MEDIEVAL PERIOD VIETNAM

Abstract

During the medieval period, along withachievements in composition, concepts of literarytheory were also summarized by our ancestors. Inaddition to opinions about the nature and functionof literary works, the ancients also paid a lot ofattention to the issue of composition. According tomedieval writers, to produce a good literary work,a writer must be equipped with basic knowledgefrom various sources, such as education and lifeexperience, as well as know how to combinebetween emotion - scene - and storyline, as a basisfor creativity. When writing, one must structure thework appropriately by determining what therelationship is between content and form to create agood work. Using the method of comparison,system, and analysis, the article highlights theoreticalissues about Vietnamese literary composition in themedieval period.
