Abstract
There have been several researches on theinfluence of Confucianism on Vietnamese literature,however, there has not been any work that hassystematically investigated the influences ofConfucian Virtue Ideology in the literary works inthe textbooks of Vietnamese language arts accordingto the 2018 General Education Program by theMinistry of Education. This article contributes to thisgap in the literature and proposes an approach toteaching the literary works in the new textbooks fromthe perspectives of Confucian Virtue Ideology tointegrate literature teaching with cultural, historicaleducation, civic education, and critical thinking.
