Abstract

The COVID-19 pandemic has caused aglobal crisis with profound impacts on many areas,such as the economy, culture, education, andchallenging society, including Japan. This articlefocuses on the impact of the COVID-19 pandemicon some outstanding cultural and sports activitiesduring the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the organizationof traditional festivals online, outstanding featuresof lifestyle changes such as working remotely,moving to rural areas, reducing eating out habits,tightening spending, shopping, focusing on thevalue of existence and improving personalunderstanding, etc.; and methods of online culturalexchanges on digital platforms. The final sectionof the article investigates Japan's responses tosome prominent cultural issues.
