RESEARCH TREND ON URBANIZATION IN VIETNAM

Abstract

By reviewing studies on urbanization in Vietnam before and after 2010, this paper clarifies the gap in content. research approaches, and methodological perspectives that need further exploration. Specifically, the study highlights the necessity of: (1) conducting quantitative research to assess the impact factors on urbanization; (2) carrying empirical studies on certain local urban areas to find out the similarities and differences, to define the general rules throughout Vietnam; (3) exploring new research directions on urbanization in the 4.0 era. Addressing these gaps is essential to analyze the entire urbanization of Vietnam, enabling urbanization more reasonably and effectively.
