Abstract

This study aims to explore the levels and forms of self-presentational behaviors among secondary school students in various communication environments and examine differences by gender, grade level, and school location. The survey sample consisted of 494 students in grades 8-11 from public and private schools in Hanoi. Data were collected using a selfreport questionnaire developed by the research team, comprising 36 items with a Cronbach’s Alpha reliability coefficient of α = 0,88. Findings reveal that secondary school students exhibit a relatively appropriate level of self-presentational behaviors. Among the domains, physical appearance self-presentation was the most appropriately expressed, followed by moral selfpresentation, while the competence-related one received the lowest scores. The collected data contribute to enriching the overall understanding of self-presentational behaviors among secondary students, including their manifestations in real life and on social media. The study also outlines contributions, limitations, and directions for future research.
