Abstract

Murakami is one of the postmodern literary masters, but he himself and some researchers sometimes have not admited it. This proves that, in Murakami's work, modern and postmodern elements are always interwoven. Through surveys of interviews with Murakami, we see the specific foundations of postmodern writing, as well as unique artistic thinking, not influenced much from the Japanese literary tradition but from the West. All of these have created a unique artistic sense and a masterful artistic style of Murakami.
