Foreign direct investment capital (FDI) in industrial development in Thai Nguyen province in the period 2010-2018

Abstract

In recent years, Thai Nguyen is a province which has strong attractions of foreign investment capital (FDI), especially in processing and manufacturing industry. The period 2010- 2018 is considered as the “golden period” of attracting FDI into industrial development in Thai Nguyen province. By the end of 2018, the total registered capital of FDI reached 7.618,54 million USD, particularly the industrial group accounted for 99,55%, ranking 1\14 in the Northern Midland and Mountain Region, 11\63 provinces, cities all over the country. FDI in the industrial sector has had a positive impact on the scale and growth rate of GRDP, rapidly improving GRDP \ person; quickly increase production value and industry growth rate, contribute to promote economic restructure, creating export value and create jobs for workers. This paper focuses on analyzing FDI capital sources in industry group and its role in socioeconomic development in Thai Nguyen province, period 2010-2018
