Factors affecting children labor in Vietnam and prevention activities from social work performance

Abstract
The study of the current situation of child labor, its influencing factors, and suggesting some preventive solutions from the perspective of social work is of great significance in the context of prevention and reduction of child labor in general. Therefore, the content of this article focuses on clarifying the current situation of child labor in Vietnam and analyzing the main groups of factors affecting the situation of child labor including factors belonging to young families, factors belonging to children by themselves, and community factors. On that basis, the article proposes social work activities in the prevention of child labor, in which the focus is on three concentrated prevention solutions including (1) Activities to support child labor awareness raising and child labor prevention; (2) Activities to support child labor prevention skills; (3) Activities to support career orientation for students; (4) Activities to connect resources in the prevention of child labor. These activities will initially help students, families, and communities raise awareness about child labor prevention; equipping skills, and career orientation for the target group of children, thereby helping to improve the effectiveness of the prevention and reduction of child labor in general.
