Abstract

Metafiction refers to fiction that reflects on the process of its own creation. This type of fiction requires active interaction and among the reader, the author, and the text. The boundaries between the fictional world and reality become difficult to define. With Khải huyền muộn (The Late Apocalypse), readers are encouraged to develop their own approaches. In it, reality and fiction are intertwined. The author exposes the process of artistic creation within the narrative, yet this same narrative world produces ambiguity for the reader. By applying genre theories, combined with analysis and comparison from a poetics perspective, the article focuses on Khải huyền muộn from several angles: text structure, the narrator, and the polyphony of text.
