Abstract
This study integrates Geographic Information Systems (GIS) and the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) to evaluate the ecological suitability of Arabica coffee in Mai Sơn area, Sơn La Province. An ecological suitability map was developed and validated, achieving an overall accuracy of 88%. The results indicate that 44.9% of the area exhibits high suitability (S1) and 32.6% shows moderate suitability (S2), providing a scientific basis for identifying 65,735 ha of land oriented toward specialized production development across three priority levels. The study proposes an expansion of the spatial extent of the Arabica coffee geographical indication area (46.32% of the natural area). The findings contribute to clarifying the role of ecological adaptation maps in the development of specialized growing areas and geographical indications for Arabica coffee in Son La province
