Assess the impact of Xuanson landfill to water environment and solution proposed

Abstract

      A survey to evaluate the impact of Xuan Son landfill was implemented in May 2012. The obtained results indicated that the quality of treated wastewater from the existing treatment system of Xuan Son landfill did not reach the necessary requirements. Wastewater from Xuan Son landfill has a significant impact on surface water and groundwater environment of the surrounding area. The necessary solutions have been proposed, including the design and construction of rainfall collection systems as well as research to increase the capacity of existing wastewater treatment system. There is a need to establish environmental monitoring reports periodically about Xuan Son landfill to control the treated wastewater to ensure the obtainment of regulations in QCVN 40:2011/MONRE and QCVN 25:2009/MONRE.
