Computation of nearshore wave energy for the Central coast of Vietnam
Abstract
This paper presents results from an investigation of wave energy along the central coast of Vietnam derived from analysis of wave climate predictions generated by the numerical model MIKE21. The spatial and temporal variations of the wave energy at the study area are presented and described. Several parameters to describe and quantify the temporal variation of wave energy resources are presented and discussed. The results of this study will provide scientific base for evaluation and assessment of potential beach sections that could apply for beach nourishment for the central coast of Vietnam.
