Preliminary results on the application of Japan’s microbiological product “Aqualift” in water treatment of polluted ponds and lakes

Abstract

     Presently, the situation of organic pollution in ponds and lakes in our country is too serious, especially in the area of Hanoi Capital. The reason is that almost of ponds and lakes have to receive wastewater from domestic, hospital, public office drainage systems; green and toxic algae and domestic wastes make ponds and lakes become more and more polluted. With the hope of contribution to solving the problem of polluted ponds and lakes in the effective and sustainable way, the research team proposed a pilot research on application of Aqualift product made in Japan, which has been applied successfully in polluted natural water treatment in Japan to water treatment in polluted lakes and ponds in Vietnam. The Ao Vuon pond situated in Phao Dai Lang - Hanoi was selected to research, presently being a pond which is heavily polluted with organic matters. The application of microbiological product of Aqualift within 1,5 months gave preliminary results well: the water has decreased significantly in turbidity, odor, the decrease in 80% of BOD5 and 84% of COD, the decrease of bed sediment, the maitainance of life environment for aquatic system in the pond, as well as cost saving, friendly environment.
