Study for updated asessment of design rainfall and flood of CamRanh and Vuc Tron reservoir

Abstract

     Central Vietnam is region which has very good potention of natural conditions for economical and social development, and this region also is facing with many natural disasters such as typhoons, floods and droughts,... During the recent years the Government has invested for many hydraulic strucrures for irrigation and natural disaster management. In which the reservoirs are very important, but after long time in operation, almost the reservoirs in the region have got many problems, specially the safety of the reservoirs during the flood season and the capacity for irrigation water suppling in the context of climate change. This study mentions and presents some results in updated assessment of design rainfall and floods as basic for futher study in problem of reservoir safety for flood control and water supply with example of Cam Ranh and Vuc Tron reservoir.
